Certified Flight Instructor Instrument

Many students ask how important it is to get the CFI Instrument certificate.  The simple answer is YES! Due to the increased demand in helicopter instrument ratings by commercial helicopter operators, there is a demand for Instrument Instructors which would make you that much more employable.  Teaching instruments will increase your knowledge, confidence and ability to use the IFR system which is necessary if and when you decide to pursue the ATP Certificate.

Minimum requirements:

Hold at least a Helicopter Commercial Pilot Certificate,

At least 18 years of age,

At least a Class 3 medical certificate,

Pass both written and practical exams

Aeronautical experience and minimum hours include:

The FAA requires no minimum number of hours of training, only that you receive and log ground and flight training to become a Certificated Flight Instructor Instrument.
